Year 1 Maths - 2D shapes

In Maths this week Year 1 have been naming and recognising the common 2D shapes circle, square, rectangle and triangle. Some children could name a pentagon, hexagon and octagon and we discussed how many sides each of those shapes had. We made our own pictures using 2D shapes, the children told their partners what shapes they used and the properties of those shapes. We then went on to making our 2D shapes on a peg board.
