World Book Day Celebrations March 2025
World Book Day 2025 at Pike Fold
At Pike Fold, every day is a day to celebrate reading, but on Thursday, 6th March, we made it extra special for World Book Day! The enthusiasm from our school community was incredible as we took part in a range of exciting activities, all designed to inspire a love of reading.
Children and staff embraced the day by dressing up as their favourite book characters, or wearing comfy clothes. Throughout the week, we ran fantastic competitions, including the Extreme Reading Challenge, where pupils shared creative photos of themselves reading in unexpected places, and the Masked Reader Competition, where they tried to guess which staff members were reading in disguise. The Book Character Potato Competition showcased some wonderfully imaginative designs, and the Book and a Brew event provided a cozy space to enjoy a story with a warm drink.
Our Scholastic Book Fair was another highlight, giving children the opportunity to discover new stories and add to their collections. Across all events, the focus remained on celebrating reading as a social, creative, and enriching experience for everyone.
A huge thank you to our pupils, staff, and families for making World Book Day 2025 such a success—we can’t wait to do it all again next year!
