Science - Weathering

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 3P Year: 2024 - 2025

In science, we discussed how weathering is the breaking down of rocks and how this occurs. One of the examples we talked about was rocks being eroded, damaged or chipped in fast moving water. We replicated this by putting skittles into two cups of water: one representing a slow moving river and the other a fast one. The children swirled the fast moving 'river' and saw that the rocks (skittles) broke down much faster than in the slow moving water.
