Egg-citing times in the Arc
Lesson: Science
Class: Resourced Provision - The ARC Year: 2016 - 2017
Across school we have had a delivery of lots of eggs ! The Arc have 8 eggs that are due to hatch (hopefully) on Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Today we have talked about the eggs and the children helped to set up the brooder ready for when the eggs hatch. The children are all very excited and we will update the photos daily !
Thursday morning, we had a chick hatch independently and two children were lucky enough to watch the second hatch with some help from its friend. We have two other eggs with cracks in that will hopefully hatch today. The chicks are chirping away encouring their friends to hurry up and hatch.
Friday saw three additional chicks welcome us into school bringing the grand total to 5 ! The chicks have been moved into the brooder where they will live for the next 7 days. Miss Wallwork has kindly offered to care for the chicks over the weekend and look after them.
Monday saw the return of the chicks from their weekend visit to Miss Wallwork's house. Freya checked on the chicks to make sure they had been cared for properly.
