Forest school fun 🌲
Date: 12th Sep 2017 @ 7:59pm
Children in year 5 will benefit form fortnightly forest School sessions led by Mrs Armstrong who is a trained forest school leader. For our first full session this week we discussd safety rules around our fire circle by playing games, we did a team game collecting different colored 'worms' and we went on a scavenger hunt to discover our forest school environment further. The children went on to explore their environment independently and participate in their own interests. Working together a group created 'Millie's river' using tools and water to create a channel in the ground. Other children made bows and arrows and sling shots and a swing for the birds. We discover lots of insects in our Forest School including a huge family of woodlice along with baby woodlice and an ant colony who were busy protecting their larve. Next week we hope to introduce tools and a fire.
