Campfire cooking at forest school. 🔥

This week Year 5 tested their culinary skills by holding their own campfire bake off as we prepared and cooked calzone on the campfire. Following instructions the children measured out ingredients to make a pizza base, they then rolled it out and added their ingredients tomato purée and cheese. The calzone was then cooked on the fire! We discovered than thinner bases cooked better as the cheese melted- yummy! 

Whilst the baking took place we made some bird feeders for our resident robin out of cheerios and string. 

We finished our campfire banquet with popcorn on the fire. Well done year 5!
