Foundation stage learn all about Diwali

The children in Foundation stage recently learned all about Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights which is celebrated every year in Autumn. The children were treated to a wonderful talk by Mrs Singh, who kindly brought in lots of artifacts all about Diwali. The children learnt about how houses are decorated with small lamps called Diyas-  which the children went on to create in the malleable area. We learnt that people enjoy fireworks and sweets and visit relatives and compared it to other festivals we celebrate. We even had a go at playing some Indian instruments!
