Forest school: week 5 🎨

Date: 4th Jul 2017 @ 10:11pm

We celebrated all things mud today at forest school. We collected mud and soil that we mixed with water to create our own paint. We experimented with different leaves and flowers to mix and create other paint effect colours, mixing them with a pestle and mortar. The art work was inspired by our session text 'Cave baby'. We used paint brushes to decorate a large canvas, this seemed to also attract lots of different  minibeasts which always interests the children. There was lots of teamwork, problem solving and perseverance as the children enjoyed their own interests creating a stream, building a playground for the birds, making fishing rods, bugs hunts, wood chopping and fire building. We even did a little investigating with a metal detector to try to find some missing keys 🤔. We ended as normal with a reflection on our learning and a toasted marshmallow. We never let the rain dampen our enjoyment at forest school!
