Forest school: week 2 🌳

We were blessed with better weather this week in Forest School. The children talked about safety at forest school and we played a game around our fire circle. We explored our site and looked at all the activities we could enjoy before playing a team game of 'hungry worms' where the children worked together in two teams to collect yellow and red 'worms'. To cool down we sat in the fire circle and listened to our story 'Room on a broom' before the children went off to explore independently to make wands (using some tools in our tool pit), making dens for forest animals, a bug hunt, painting stones, making mud monsters and making musical instruments out of natural materials. After all our forest fun we sat around our fire circle and Mrs Armstrong lit a fire for us all to toast brioche. Yum yum. We reflected on our morning and the children said what they had enjoyed the most. We had a magical morning in the forest! 🌳🦋🐝🐞🐛🕷🕸
