Fairies and fires 🍄
Date: 29th Sep 2017 @ 5:48pm
Reception children continue to benefit from a fortnightly forest school afternoon. This week it was the turn of the squirrels and hedgehogs to don their waterproofs and wellies although we were blessed with lots of autumn sunshine! We practiced our fire circle games before discovering a note from our own forest fairy asking the children to create their own nature picture using leaves, sticks and conkers. The children continued to follow their interest of digging and filling and emptying water! We also enjoyed our new mud kitchen and geo boards. There were lots of shrieks and whoops of joy as we explored underneath the tree stumps to identify slugs, slug eggs, snails, wood live and worms all living in harmony in the forest!
We finished our session reflecting on our learning and enjoying a marshmellow toasted over the campfire, which the children helped to build.
